1* X 5 onestar press fifth anniversary in Vienna
From March 1 2006 to April 1 2006

onestar press celebrated 5 years of publishing books and multiples in Vienna in March at the gallery Engholm Engelhorn Galerie thanks to Kerstin Engholm with a show of multiples, Hans Schabus’s onestar stop, 3 LARGE IMAGES by Chloe Piene, Lawrence Weiner and Josh Smith (see pages 6-7 for details) & of course the 135 artists books that now make up the collection. For a month the gallery was dedicated to sharing onestar’s art trove with the Viennese and traveling public. A packed vernissage on March 23rd was followed the next evening by a round table conference moderated by Benedikt Ledebur with Christophe Cherix, Stefano Chiodi, Christophe Boutin, Richard Dailey... Once again this event showed how clearly new digital technologies and the ancient art of bookmaking have merged to transform our perceptions of the potential of artists books. Even as onestar looked back and reflected on it’s 5 years, several new Viennese artists were invited to join the collection. We look forward to books by Constanze Ruhm, Marcus Geiger and Richard Hoeck.
This show will travel to the French Cultural Center in Turin in June, 2006
Richard Dailey.
