Daniel Gordon, Daniel Gordon / Plant and Vase Shop / Untitled, San Francisco - 2018
From January 11 2018 to January 14 2018

Since 2009 Daniel Gordon has been creating an extraordinary body of work in which photography, sculpture and painting are intimately intertwined. From the artist’s pre-production illuminations to the final image or sculpture created, the method is unique: Gordon first cultivates his primary materials by scouring the internet for images he would like print, cutout and collage. These sourced images are then digitally altered before taking life in the form of hand-crafted 3-dimensional collage objects that include plants, fruits and vases, to name a few, that become a hybrid visual form between sculpture and collage. The sculptures are finally installed in the artist’s studio, properly lit and photographed with a traditional analog large format camera, thus completing the cycle of representation from the original object, to internet image, to sculptures or collages and all back into the 2-dimensional photographic form. We are proud to debut two large photographs by the artist in addition to two prints on canvas, alongside over more than sixty original sculptures that are welcome to be hand-picked and arranged by collectors themselves.
