In conjunction with having published Les Dessins à La Règle with Elvire Bonduelle in 2011, onestar press has the pleasure of presenting a series of sculptures and drawings by the artist entitled, ‘L’art, le joli & le fonctionnel’ from 5 – 26 April, 2012.

In lieu of her most recent onestar press publication Les Dessins à la Règle, we find Elvire Bonduelle front and center with a series of drawings in precise measurement and representation; all pre-cut patterns of suburban culture such as a house, a car and a dog. Letters and geometric shapes, iconic and at once familiar surroundings, Elvire satirizes the quotidian domestic environment while at once exploring the history of architecture in her precise and studied inclusions of moldings, extruded shapes and landscapes, rendered in a delightfully child-like industrial style. For this exhibition Elvire Bonduelle presents 7 unique prints, 25 original drawings and a selection of unique sculptures.
