Jonathan Monk has a large library and it is full of monographs and artist’s books from the 20th century. Following the “Book Stacks” from 2018, Jonathan Monk has picked eleven books about and by Alighiero e Boetti from his library and this time simulated book spines in wood painted with white gesso. Looking back at the works of Louise Nevelson, Franz West, Ben Nicholson, Cy Twombly, Giorgio Morandi, Piero Manzoni, Alberto Burri or even constructivist assemblages by Vladimir Tatlin, these unique works by Jonathan Monk fulfil their reassuring mission: the reengaging of works by Boetti left rich in our imagination.
